Candidates can equally get the JAMB CBT Software for Computer Systems , to simulate the actual CBT environment on the Main UTME, which now comes up on 11th April.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said these changes are due to ”certain circumstances beyond the Board’s control” and that “All candidates who registered for the 2019 UTME are to ensure that they print their examination notification slips before the day of the examination as no excuses would be entertained. The public should note that the Board would not reschedule examination for any candidate,”

JUST IN:- JAMB Fixes New Date For 2019 UTME Mock Exam

March 06, 2019
CBT Hall

JAMB revealed that the mock exam was brought in to familiarize new candidates with the conduct of computer based tests(CBT)
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has reportedly fixed Saturday, March 23, 2019 for the conduct of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock exam.
The exam body has therefore advised candidates to go on with  the printing of their mock examination notification slips from Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
You’ll also recall that JAMB earlier postponed the date of the mock examination because it coincided with the postponed date of the 2019 presidential and National Assembly election

Also, the 2019 UTME was expected to begin on March 16 and end on March 23 at JAMB’s computer-based test centres nationwide, but the postponement of the general election affected the dates.
However, according to Premium Times, the examination date has reportedly been shifted from March 16, 2019 to April 16 ,2019 because of the general elections.
Why Mock exam was introduced
Earlier, while announcing that no date has been fixed for the 2019 UTME yet, JAMB’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin said the mock exam was introduced in 2019 in order to familiarize candidates with the conduct of Computer Based Test.
He also said that the mock exam was designed to help candidates who are coming in contact with computer know the basics of computer-based tests and prevent any phobia that might come up.

JUST IN: Why We Postpone Nigeria's Elections To Feb. 23rd - INEC

February 15, 2019

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has disclosed why it postponed the general elections earlier scheduled for Saturday, 16th February, 2019.

The commission shifted the election by one week, explaining how difficult it was for it to shift the general elections.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu who briefed journalists at about 2:43am on Saturday, in Abuja, said the commission had met on Friday, 15th February 2019 and reviewed its preparations for the 2019 General Elections earlier scheduled for Saturday, and therefore, suspend  the Presidential and National Assembly elections to Saturday, 23rd February 2019.

He said the commission would later in the day be meeting with key stakeholders at the International Conference Centre, Abuja to iron out issues surrounding the development.

According to him,

Following a careful review of the implementation of its logistics and operational plan and the determination to conduct free, fair and credible elections, the Commission came to the conclusion that proceeding with the elections as scheduled is no longer feasible,

said Yakubu.
He said, “consequently, the Commission has decided to reschedule the Presidential and National Assembly Elections to Saturday, 23rd February 2019. Furthermore, the Governorship, State House of Assembly and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections is rescheduled to Saturday 9th March 2019. This will afford the Commission the opportunity to address identified challenges in order to maintain the quality of our elections.
“This was a difficult decision for the Commission to take, but necessary for the successful delivery of the elections and the consolidation of our democracy.
“The Commission will meet key stakeholders to update them on this development at 2pm on Saturday, 16th February 2019 at the Abuja international Conference Centre”,
he added.

MUST READ: 6 Reasons Why A Muslim Should Not Celebrate Valentine Day

February 13, 2019

Did you know that the celebration of Valentine’s Day is forbidden by some religions? One of these religions is Islam.

The Quran has provided all the festivals of which Muslims are permitted to partake and Valentine’s Day is not one of them.

As a believing Muslim, you are not supposed to take part in the celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Recently, a High Court in Pakistan banned Valentine’s Day celebrations which is seen by some as amoral and an appropriation of Western culture.

If you are wondering why it is not acceptable for Muslims to celebrate Valentine’s Day, here is why:-

1. Celebrating Valentine’s Day is imitating the pagans:
Islam is against imitating the Pagans and Christians regarding their festival of love. Imitating non-Muslims in general whether they are idolaters or people of the Book - is Haraam (prohibited), whether that imitation is of their worship or of their customs and behavior.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)said: "Whoever resembles a people in their actions and practices is just like them.” (Abu Dawud 4021, Ahmed 2/50)

2. It is not a Muslim festival:
In Islam, the festivals are clearly defined and well established, and no additions or subtractions may be accepted. The clear evidence of the Qur’aan and Sunnah and the consensus of the early generations of this ummah indicates that there are only two festivals in Islam: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Any other festivals that have to do with a person, a group, an event or anything else are innovated festivals, which it is not permissible for Muslims to observe, approve of or express joy on those occasions, or to help others to celebrate them in any way. Doing so is transgressing the sacred limits of Allah.
This was indicated by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he said: “ Every people has its festival and this is our festival.”
More so: “ For every nation we have ordained religious ceremonies which they must follow ” [al-Hajj 22:67]

3. It promotes infatuation and sexual immorality:
The celebration of lovers’ day calls for hearts to be preoccupied with foolish matters that are contrary to the way of the righteous salaf. The love referred to in this festival is romantic love outside the framework of marriage. The result of that is the spread of fornication and immorality.

4. Muslims love all through the year:
Expression of feelings and emotions is not a justification for the Muslim to allocate a day for celebration based on his own thoughts and ideas, and to call it a festival, or make it like a festival. In Islam, a husband loves his wife throughout the year, and he expresses that love towards her with gifts, in verse and in prose, in letters and in other ways, throughout the years and not just on one day of the year.
Islam requires all Muslims to love one another all through the year and reducing the whole year to a single day is unacceptable.

5. It is not of any benefit to Muslims:
Valentine celebration can never be something Islam can tolerate even if you are a couple.

6. It does not have any positive impact on the society:
On Monday, Frebruary 13, some Muslim school students in Indonesia staged a protest against Valentine’s Day , denouncing it as a Western celebration that encourages casual sex.
Several cities across the country also banned people from celebrating Valentine’s Day.
